ALL ABOUT BRAZILIAN CHERRY
Brazilian Cherry, also known as Jatoba, is a very hard and stable wood. It is knows as perhaps the most popular and widely used of the exotic species. The Jatoba tree itself is a slow growing tree that often reaches a height of 120 feet and a diameter of up to 4 feet. Jatoba is native to and grows in abundance in most of the South American Islands as well as Brazil, Mexico and Peru. Jatoba has a luxurious golden luster that accentuates its interlocking gran patterns and coarse texture. Jatoba's coloring consists of attractive burgundy, deep red, and orange tones, and it can exhibit quite a large color variation from one board to the next. It is also highly photosensitive and will mostly darken warm, deep red and brown hues over time and with exposure to light.

Jatoba is such a versatile wood species that it is very commonly used in flooring, all construction purposes, and even furniture and cabinet making.
Brazilian Cherry’s natural reddish brown color and superior hardness has made it a favorite for all applications. Featuring distinctive and varied grain patterns, coupled with a litany of colorful hues, Brazilian Cherry matures to a beautiful, rich mosaic over time.
